Mabintou Timite

Ms. Mabintou Timite is a native of Bondoukou from the Ivory Coast. She received her Certificate in Marketing in 1979, after which she embarked as a proprietor in the commercial world and operated her own business selling clothing. Ms. Timite was in the business of buying and selling items of clothing that she herself had designed and professionally tailored. She supervised all aspects of her business, from the purchase of goods, to the marketing, display, and public sale of such goods. Ms. Timite kept careful records of her finances, before and after each day's operation, and reconciled her accounts on a regular basis. Her business was profitable. In the year 2000, however, the business had to be discontinued owing to political unrest and subsequent civil war that carried the country into commercial disruption and ultimate destruction of her establishment. She witnessed the hardship that such political turmoil unleashed on children in particular. Naturally, Ms. Timite has been moved by those who seek to alleviate the impact that homelessness is having on children. She is thus inspired to get involved to try to help in any way she can. Ms. Timite, as director of this charity, wants to add a positive force to better define how to assist some of these affected families.
